Update- on kids being sick

Grant-seems to be doing better but has a slight runny nose. He is sleeping most of the night again and only waking once to eat then going right back to sleep! Thank God!! His two top front teeth are through the skin but it looks like he is getting at least one more on the top. He has been back on schedule with his sleeping and eating and seems to be going back to a routine.

Hailey- Had another ear infection. She has had three this year and five in 16 months. That is not good! So they referred us to a ear, nose, and throat specialist Dr. Mark Logan and we have an appointment on Sept. 5 to decide what our options are. Our doctor thinks they will probably go ahead and put tubes in her ears. I am sad..i always thought tubes were more for babies/toddlers?? I haven't heard of many 5 year olds getting tubes.

I just want her to be happy and comfortable again. She wakes up in the middle of the night with horrible ear pain and has numbing drops we have to give her. Or she ends up with a super high fever(like 104 or 105)!! Last time we couldn't get any medicine in her because the fever made her vomit which made no medicine even tylenol go down. She aslmost had to go to the emergency room because she was so hot! It was scary! I am hoping whatever the decision is she isn't in pain. She seems to be feeling okay today. Her nose is still running a little but fluids are clear and her ear hasn't been hurting.

I am happy we have our medical deductibles paid up this year or we would be paying a fortune for everything that has happened this year. Betwee grant being born, jasons physical therapy, my occupational therapy, hailey's dental surgery, jason's stiches, my pink eye, hailey's ear infections, kids shots..and the list goes on....i have no clue what we are going to do next year? I am praying we have a super healthy year!!Yeah right, what is the chance of that! It has been a crazy medical year and we still have a long time left to see what disasters still unfold. Pray for health!!

Hey!! Don't worry about the tubes! Austin got them put in when he was 5 as well. He had 47 ear infections in less then 2 years...No, I'm not kidding!!! It was crazy!! She will be just fine. It's a same say surgery, and she won't even know they are there! Promise!! I know it's hard not to worry, but it will be okay!! :)

I knew it was a very short surgery but that is my job to worry (: I am happy to know that there are others that have tubes put in when older!
